Versatility
A wide variety of plastic parts can be made through the line bending process. Low tooling costs make it an ideal method for small quantity applications or prototypes. It is also cost effective for large volume requirements through the use of improved methods to blank out the part prior to bending. Shields and covers are typical of parts produced by this process.

Hot vs. Cold
Formed Plastics' engineering department determines whether each part should be cold or hot bent based on the type of plastic specified and its thickness. Depending on the quantity involved the part is completely machined in the flat state using either CNC machinery or power presses.

FINISHING

Total Control
Formed Plastics performs a myriad of finishing operations as part of the company's effort to have total control over its products. Through these in-house capabilities, the quality of the end product can be better controlled and promised delivery dates held.

Painting
Rather than having to subcontract painting, Formed Plastics has its own complete in-house painting facility. Experienced painters can provide textured finishes, RFI/EMI spray shielding or other types of finishes required.

Marking
In Formed Plastics' extensive marking facility, parts can be marked by a variety of techniques including offset printing, silk screening, hot stamping, and engraving. This diversity of marking capabilities allows the customer the freedom to decide which method is best for his particular needs. The method of marking depends on a variety of factors including aesthetics, costs, and the end use of the part.

Assembly
Most equipment manufacturers today strive to do less and less assembly in-house and want to purchase a completed assembly from their suppliers. Formed Plastics has responded to this demand by adding an extensive assembly department capable of assembling fittings, motors, sensors, brackets, and other devices. Parts can be joined using either ultrasonic welding, solvent bonding, or mechanical fastening. Riveting and lugging equipment is available.
